Ecological Restoration Volunteer Event

Join the Institute for Regional Conservation for an ecological restorarion volunteer day at the Palmetto Bay Park Pineland Preserve in the Village of Palmetto Bay, Miami, FL. The event is on the morning of Saturday, August 14th from 9am to 11am. Come learn all about the importance of preserving Pine Rocklands and help us install native plant species that will increase the biodiversity of this critical ecosystem. This is a family friendly event! You can also receuve service hours.

There is no experience required! So grab a friend and come out to help us plant a diverse array of native species so we can enhance the essentail biodiversity of Palmetto Bay Pineland ecosystem. Whether this is your first volunteer event with us or you're a repeat volunteer, we are so excited to have you join the IRC family and see how much fun habitat restoration can be!

Ecological Restoration Volunteer Day

Join the Institute for Regional Conservation in this exciting project with Miami Beach Rising Above! On Saturday, September 14th from 9am to 11am. IRC and our volunteers will be working together to plant a variety of native plants to the beach dune along South Pointe Park. Please meet us at the end of the pier/board walk underneath the sahde, where you will find our sign in table. Groups of volunteers will be instructed how to install native plants into the ground and learn about coastal ecosystems. We may also remove some nonnative plants as well.

Join the Institute for Regional Conservation in this exciting project with City of Boca Raton! On Saturday, September 28th from 9am to 11am. IRC and our volunteers will be working together to plant a variety of native plants to the beach dune along South Beach Park. Please meet us in front of the entrance to the beach near tower 6, make a left into the park, and then use the spaces on the right about a quarter mile down. A map of where to meet will be sent to your email upon registration. We will have a sign in area at the picnis tables there. Groups of volunteers will be instructed how to install native plants into the ground and learn about coastal ecosystems. We will also remove some nonnative plants as well.

Coastal Conservation Education Workshop - Guided Nature Walk and BioBlitz

North Beach Oceanside Park - 8328 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33141

Join the Institute for Regional Conservation and Miami Botanical Garden with support from Miami Beach Rising Above for a guided nature tour at North Beach Oceanside Park in Miami Beach, FL on Friday, September 13th from 10am to 12pm. IRC and Miami Botanical Garden will host a fun and educational nature walk within the tropical hammock and beach dunes and discuss the importance of coastal conservation. Volunteers will learn how to identify coastal native plants, the importance in building a biodiverse dune system and how to that helps protect from storms and so much more. We will be using the app iNaturalist to "BioBlitz" local flora and fauna that we encounter on our nature walk. This is a wonderful way to participate in citizen science. This event is open to all ages.

There is no experience required! So grab a friend and come out and learn more about South Florida's dune ecosystems. Whether this is your first volunteer event with us or you're a repeat volunteer, we are so excited to have you join the IRC family and see how much we have at our volunteer events. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing for the outdoors and sunshine. Hat and sunscreen are recommended.

DO GOOD DELRAY - RESTORING THE LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND NATURE

IRC and Central Park Taekwondo have partnered up again with a purpose to bring you "Restoring The Link Between People and Nature" fundraising event! This Do Good Delray event will benefit IRC's programs including Restoring the Goldcoast and our Pine Rockland Initiative.

The event, held at the Delray Beach Historical Society, will be a fun Autumn Social with food, drinks, trivia, facepainting, raffles and so much more! Your ticket gets you all the fun and supports our program.
