Major geographic regions following Axelrod (2011): Sierra de Luquillo, Sierra de Cayey, Eastern Cordillera (La Torrecilla), Central Cordillera, Western Cordillera (Maricao State Forest), Northern Limestone Hills, Western Coast (Mayaguez). Botanically unique areas following Axelrod (2011): Las Tetas de Cayey, La Torrecilla.
