History in the Bahamas:
Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 188-190, with illustrations) for sandy seasonally moist areas near the coast, salt marshes, and wet sandy meadows in scattered locations nearly throughout the Commonwealth (regions 2, 6, 10). Correll & Correll noted that sterile plants, probably of this species, had been found on many islands. The Global Biodiveristy Information Facility (link below) has a specimen collected on Eleuthera (region 8).
