Presencia/Occurence: Presuntamente extirpado o extinto/Presumed extirpated or extinct.

Origen/Origin: Nativo/Native.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Un helecho terrestre, raro, recolectado una vez en 1887 por P.E.E. Sintenis (6378 US) en Utuado "in paludosis" (Maxon 1926, Liogier & Martorell 1982, Proctor 1989, Liogier & Martorell 2000, Axelrod 2011). Proctor describió su hábitat general como pantanos abiertos o ciénagas en elevaciones bajas a medias, pero en el Sur de la Florida crece más abundantemente en pantanos boscosos. Citada por Axelrod (2011) como un taxón no recolectado recientemente. No hay registros de esta en MAPR (Jeanine Vélez, com. email 2016).

A rare lithophytic fern collected once in 1885 by Sintenis (1770 US) in the Sierra de Luquillo "in monte Jimenes" (Proctor 1989, Liogier & Martorell 2000, Axelrod 2011). Not distinguished as a separate taxon by Maxon (1926) or Liogier & Martorell (1982). Proctor described its habitat as middle elevations (probably 350-500 m) on rocky non-calcareous banks in wet forests. Listed as a taxon not recently collected by Axelrod (2011). There are no records of this at MAPR (Jeanine Vélez, email comm. 2016).
