Presencia/Occurence: Presuntamente extirpado o extinto/Presumed extirpated or extinct.

Origen/Origin: Nativo/Native.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Una hierba rara, cuyo espécimen tipo fue recolectado por P.E.E. Sintenis (5127) en Yabucoa. Fue también recolectada en 1901 por L.M. Underwood & R.F. Griggs (320 NY) entre Cayey y Guayama, y en 1922 por Britton et al. (6251 US) en la Sierra de Yabucoa. Citada por Axelrod (2011) como un taxón no recolectado recientemente. No hay registros recientes de esta en MAPR (Jeanine Vélez, com. email 2016).

A rare herb, the type specimen of which was collected by P.E.E. Sintenis (5127) at Yabucoa. It was also collected in 1901 by L.M. Underwood & R.F. Griggs (320 NY) between Cayey and Guayama, and in 1922 by Britton et al. (6251 US) in the Sierra de Yabucoa. Listed as a taxon not recently collected by Axelrod (2011). There are no recent records of this at MAPR (Jeanine Vélez, email comm. 2016).

(2012b), quienes le dieron un rango global provisional como En Peligro Crítico usando los criterios de la Lista Roja de la IUCN basado en una localidad y una nota de que no había sido recolectada desde 1922 y estaba posiblemente extinta.

This was identified as a conservation concern in Puerto Rico by Miller et al. (2012b), who gave it a provisional global rank of Critically Endangered using the IUCN Red List criteria based on one location and a note that it had not been collected since 1922 and was possibly extinct.
