 Historia y distribución/History and distribution:
A rare vine cited by Britton & Wilson (1925 [VI(1): 115]) as occurring in a sandy coconut grove in Joyuda (Cabo Rojo) in 1913, and subsequently by others (Liogier & Martorell 1982, Liogier 1995 [IV: 275], Liogier & Martorell 2000, Acevedo-RodrÃguez 2005). Excluded by Axelrod (2011) based on the lack of a specimen, but there is a corroborating specimen at the New York Botanical Garden collected in a sandy coconut grove by Britton et al. (2397 NY) in Joyuda. Acevedo-RodrÃguez (2005) suggested that this was probably exotic, but we see no reason to do so.
