Notas/Notes: Treated as native to the West Indies including Puerto Rico by Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong (2012, 2016), but other authors consider this to be introduced from the Old World; not included in Acevedo-Rodríguez (2005).

Presencia/Occurence: Posiblemente extirpado o extinto/Possibly extirpated or extinct.

Origen/Origin: No nativo, naturalizado/Not native, naturalized.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Collected once in 1937 in a swamp in Mayagüez (Sargent B32 US), and once on islands adjacent to Fajardo (Woodbury a.n. 2914 in Axelrod 2011). Widely cultivated and possibly still extant on the island of Puerto Rico.
