Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Cited by Britton & Wilson (1924 [V(2): 281]), Liogier & Martorell (1982), Liogier (1985 [I: 162]), and Liogier & Martorell (2000) as escaping from cultivation, but excluded as only under cultivation by Axelrod (2011). However, cited as naturalized in Puerto Rico in the Flora of the West Indies (Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong 2015).
