Notas/Notes: Some authorities (e.g. The Plant List, Flora of the West Indies) treat both A. flavescens and A. ramosissima as accepted names. Others (e.g., ITIS, Flora of North America) place A. ramosissima into synonymy under A. flavescens. We follow the latter treatment.

ESTATUS EN LA ISLA DE PUERTO RICO/STATUS ON THE ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO
Presencia/Occurence: Reportado/Reported.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Cited by Britton & Wilson (1924 [V(2):281]) from coastal sands, San Juan and near Bayamón. Subsequently cited by Woodbury et al. (1975) and Liogier & Martorell (1982, 2000) with the same basic information. Liogier (1985 [I: 147]) suggested this might have been a misidentification of Gomphrena serrata. Treated as a doubtful part of the flora by Axelrod (2011), and as exotic in Puerto Rico by Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong (2012, 2015). There is a specimen online at the US herbarium at the Smithsonian Institution cited as collected by P.E.E. Sintenis in 1885 at San Juan and Punto Cangrejos.
