Florida Keys History and Distribution: Reported in 1884 by J. Cosmo Melvill as having been previously present on the island of Key West. Reported in
1913 by John Kunkel Small for the Florida Keys (sensu lato) without specific locality or habitat data. We consider this native to the upper Keys and lower Keys, but possibly extirpated in the lower Keys.
