Florida Keys History and Distribution: Reported in
1913 by John Kunkel Small for open, sandy hammocks in the upper Keys, but his definition of upper Keys extended south and west to West Summerland Key in the lower Keys. As far as we can determine, Small made one collection in 1909 on Crawl Key in the middle Keys. This is doubtfully native to the Florida Keys - it is associated with pine rocklands on the mainland.
