Florida Keys History and Distribution: Reported in 1884 by J. Cosmo Melvill for the island of Key West. Reported in
1913 by John Kunkel Small for pinelands and hammocks in the lower Keys. Also present on Key Largo, where first reported by Karen Achor in 1982 (Weiner, 1980 as amended). We consider this native and extant in the upper Keys (Key Largo) and lower Keys.
