Florida Keys History and Distribution: Reported in 1884 by J. Cosmo Melvill for the island of Key West.  Reported in 1913 by John Kunkel Small for hammocks in the lower Keys.  Reported for Key Largo in the upper Keys by Taylor Alexander in 1973.  We consider this native to the upper Keys (Key Largo) and the lower Keys, where perhaps extirpated.
