South Florida History and Distribution: This native wildflower is currently known in South Florida only from pine rocklands on the Miami Rock Ridge; it is possibly extirpated in the lower Florida Keys and in Big Cypress National Preserve. Using modern NatureServe criteria, we reranked this from rare to imperiled in South Florida in 2020.
