Gann et al. 2002; pp 212-213) based on one extant occurrence at Little Hamaca Park in Monroe County. It is still present there (Woodmansee 2022) and no new locations are known.

Florida Keys History and Distribution: First collected between 1838 and 1853 by John Loomis Blodgett on the island of Key West. First published by Chapman in 1860 as Streptachne floridana. However, not reported for the Florida Keys by John Kunkel Small in 1913. Rediscovered in the lower Florida Keys by George N. Avery in 1965.
