Native Range: The West Indies, peninsular Florida, Mexico and Central America.

History in the Bahamas: Reported as T. fasciculata sensu lato both by Britton & Millspaugh (1920) and Correll & Correll (1982), but most plants in the Bahamas appear to be this taxon. Reported by Correll & Correll (280-281) as an epiphyte on trees and shrubs in thickets, coppices and scrublands, often in low areas, nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 10-7, 3-1).
