This and
Symphyotrichum bahamense were included in
Aster subulatus in Correll & Correll (1982), and both this and
Symphyotrichum bahamense are listed for the Bahamas in the Flora of the West Indies. However, it is possible that this taxon would be referable to
S. expansum (=
S. subulatum var.
parviflorum).
