History in the Bahamas:
Britton & Millspaugh (1920) describe this variety as being native to Fortune Island (Long Cay) and South Caicos. Derek Burch made a collection in 1971 (4230 MO) from "Rocky limestone coast S of Cockburn Harbour South Caicos."
