History in the Bahamas:
Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for “shaded grounds” in the northwestern and central Commonwealth (New Providence, Eleuthera, Cat Island). Reported by Correll & Correll (1354-1355, with illustrations) for disturbed areas and coppice edges nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 10-6, 4, 2-1). Plants refered to the "southern United States" by Correll & Correll were in error (see
Florida Atlas). This may have been a misidentification of R. ciliatiflora.
