History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for mangrove swamps in the northwestern and central Commonwealth (Grand Bahama, Andros, New Providence, Crooked Island). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1138, 1140-1142, with illustrations) for along the margins of mangrove swamps and in thickets near the sea, also standing in fresh or brackish water, nearly throughout the Commonwealth (regions 10-8, 5, 3).
