Native Range: The West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba) and South Florida.

History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for sinkholes in the northwestern Commonwealth (Grand Bahama, Andros, New Providence). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 42) for on rocky banks and ledges and the walls of sinkholes in the northwestern and central Commonwealth (regions 10-6, 4).

Synonyms: Pteris longifolia var. bahamensis; Pycnodoria longifolia of Britton & Millspaugh (1920), not (L.) Britton.
