History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh as an epiphyte on trees at Conch Sound, Andros. Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 38) for rocks and trees in coppices in the northwestern Commonwealth (region 9); the specimen cited in the Flora is at NY, so it is not clear that this was ever observed by the Corrells. In 1991, Marie Selby Botanical Garden made a live collection at Conch Sound which is still extant.
