History in the Bahamas: Not listed in Britton & Millspaugh (1920). Reported in Correll & Correll (1982: 37) as rare in thin soil on boulders and at the base of trees in shady, moist coppices in the northwestern Commonwealth (regions 10-9).

Synonyms: Polypodium plumula.
