				History in the Bahamas:
				Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for pinelands on Grand Bahama at Eight Mile Rocks.  Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1157) for pinelands and savannas in the northwestern Commonwealth (regions 10, 8).
				
				
				
Comments:
				This is closely related to 
Metastelma blodgettii and is perhaps only varietally distinct (Correll & Correll 1982).
