History in the Bahamas:
Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh (as Metastelma inaguense) for shrublands, sand dunes and whitelands in the central and southeastern Archipelago (Conception Island, San Salvador, Great Inagua). Also reported as M. hamatum for whitelands and rocky soil in the central and southeastern Archipelago (Cat Cay, Castle Island, Little Inagua, Caicos Islands, Grand Turk). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1156) for whitelands, shrublands and dunes nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 10, 6, 5, 3-1).
Synonyms:
Cynanchum inaguense; Metastelma hamatum of Britton & Millspaugh (1920), in part, not Griseb.
