History in the Bahamas:
Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh (as
Iresine flavescens) for maritime rocks and pinelands in the northwestern and central Commonwealth and (as
Iresine inaguensis) for “sandy and rocky soil” in the southeastern Commonwealth (Castle Island, Atwood Cay, Sheep Cay, Inagua). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 481-483, with illustrations) for “rock flats and ledges, dunes, open pinelands, coppices and waste areas” in the northwestern to southeastern Commonwealth (regions 10-2).
