Although cited as exotic to the West Indies by Acevedo-RodrÃguez & Strong (2012, 2016; see also Flora of the West Indies below), Austin (2003) considered variety
punctatum, which was the entity cited by Correll & Correll (1982), to be native to the Bahamas and Florida.
