History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for wet places in the northwestern Commonwealth (Grand Bahama, New Providence). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1160-1161, with illustrations) for low wet places in the northwestern Commonwealth (regions 10-8).

Synonyms: Philibertella clausa, Sarcostemma clausum.
