History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for sinkholes and freshwater swamps nearly throughout the Archipelago (Andros, Cat Island, Watling’s Island, Crooked Island, Acklin’s Island, Fortune Island, Great Exuma and Grand Turk). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 82-83, with illustrations) for sinkholes, freshwater swamps and pond margins nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 9, 7-1).
