History in the Bahamas:
Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh as naturalized in thickets in the northwestern and southeastern Archipelago (New Providence, Great Inagua). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1151-1152, with illustrations) for thickets nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 9-8, 6-4, 2). Reports from Britton & Millspaugh also cover region 2.
