				History in the Bahamas:
				Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for moist areas nearly throughout the Archipelago (Grand Bahama, Abaco, Andros, New Providence, Eleuthera, Great Exuma, Fortune Island and North Caicos).  Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1070-1072, with illustrations) for wet or moist soils in marshes, swamps and palmetto flats, often forming meadows, nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 10-3, 1).
