Native Range: Scattered in the West Indies, South Florida and northern South America; reported in error for southern Mexico and Central America.

History in the Bahamas: Not listed by Britton & Millspaugh (1920). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 274-275, with illustrations) as epiphytic on trees in or around sinkholes in coppices in the northwestern Commonwealth (region 9).
