History in the Bahamas:
Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh as naturalized in disturbed areas nearly throughout the Archipelago (Great Guana Cay, Andros, New Providence, Eleuthera, Cat Island, Acklins Island, Long Island, Great Inagua, Grand Turk, Salt Island). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1128-1131, with illustrations) for disturbed areas, rocky open soil and thin coppices, occasionally in fresh water marshes, nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 10-8, 6-4, 1). Reports from Britton & Millspaugh also cover regions 7, 3 and 2.
