History in the Bahamas:
Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh as an epiphyte on trees and in sinkholes in coppices in the northwestern and southeastern Commonwealth (Abaco, Grand Bahama, Andros, New Providence, Crooked Island). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 36-37) for trees, logs and in sinkholes in coppices nearly throughout the Commonwealth (regions 10-8, 5, 3). Although not listed in Correll & Correll for the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is present there (B.N. Manko, personal communictaion 2012).
