History in the Bahamas:
Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for disturbed areas in the central and southwestern Commonwealth (Fortune Island, Anguilla Cays). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 471-472) for “open flats about damp areas” and in fallow fields nearly throughout the Commonwealth (regions 10-7, 5-3, 11). Apparently spreading as a weed.
