History in the Bahamas:
Not listed in Britton & Millspaugh (1920). Cited for the Bahamas apparently based on a single collection from the Turks and Caicos Islands stored at Harvard's Arnold Arboretum herbarium (Correll & Correll, 1982: 466 and 1559). Otherwise, this species is known only from northern Venezuela, including Margarita Island.
