Native Range: The West Indies (Bahamas, Greater Antilles), southern United States (Texas) and Mexico.

History in the Bahamas: Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1484) for open gravelly or sandy soils, open pinelands, coastal coppices, crevices or walls and on coppice-covered hills in the northern Commonwealth (regions 8-10).
