South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002; pp 540-541) based two occurrences in two conservation areas in Miami-Dade County: Bill Sadowski Park, Deering Estate at Cutler. Plants are the Deering Estate were extirpated then reintroduced with recent recruitment (J. Possley, email comm. 2022).
