South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as presumed extirpated in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002, pp 90-91), based on collections from 1938-1939 and subsequent unverified reports from what is now Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. Rediscovered there in 2003 by Mike Owen where last observed in 2009 (M. Owen, email comm. 2022).
