South Florida History and Distribution: Recorded as Presumed Extirpated in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002, p 75), based on three specimens collected bewteen 1903 and 1905 in Collier and Miami-Dade counties. Rediscovered in 2005 by Karen Relish, Mike Owen and Russ Clusman in the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park.
