South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002; pp 392-394) based on three occurrences in three protected areas and two non-protected areas (Klopp Tract, Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park; Long Key State Park, Long Key Layton Coastal Rock Barren, and North Layton Hammock; Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park).
