South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002; pp 230-231) based on one occurrence in Castellow Hammock Park, Miami-Dade County, where it is still present. It has also been documented in adjoining conservation areas managed by Miami-Dade County, but all within an area approximately 1 km sq.
