Notas de Conservación/Conservation Notes: Guzmania erythrolepis, un nombre que fue mal aplicado a plantas de esta en Maricao, fue listada como especie en peligro no endémica de Puerto Rico por Woodbury et al. (1975) y como Elemento Crítico por el DRNA en 1988, 1999 (como posiblemente extirpada), y 2007. / Guzmania erythrolepis, a name which was misapplied to plants of this in Maricao, was listed as an endangered species not endemic to Puerto Rico by Woodbury et al. (1975) and as a Critical Element by DNER in 1988, 1999 (as possibly extirpated) and 2007.
