Origen/Origin: No nativo, naturalizado/Not native, naturalized.

Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Cited by Liogier & Martorell (1982), Liogier (1994 [IV: 319]) and Liogier & Martorell (2000) as rarely naturalized, but excluded as only under cultivation by Axelrod (2011). However, this is cited as naturalized in Puerto Rico in the Flora of the West Indies (Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong 2015).
