Florida Keys History and Distribution: Not reported for the Florida Keys by John Kunkel Small in 1913. This is widely naturalized on the South Florida mainland and in the early stages of naturalizing in the Florida Keys. Saplings were first observed recruiting on rocks on Key Largo by George D. Gann and Janice A. Duquesnel in 1998. An herbarium voucher is needed for the Monroe County Keys.
