South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as presumed extirpated in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002, pp 94-95), based on collections from 1976-1978 at a site in western Broward County that was destroyed by 1986. Rediscovered in 2017 by Jim Surdick and Paul Russo in the Everglades and Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area while conducting surveys for the Florida Natural Areas Inventory.
