South Florida History and Distribution: Omitted in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002). Collected a few times in Collier County from 1945 to 1981, including in what is now the Big Cypress National Preserve (
Popenoe 2181 FTG), where it does not currently appear to be extant (C. Angelo, pers. comm. 2022). It was not collected again until George Wilder and Jean McCollom vouchered it at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary between 2015 and 2017 (
2018; Wilder & McCollom 39296 SWF).
