South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002; pp 358-361) based on three occurrences in two protected areas (Castellow Hammock Park; Fuchs Hammock Preserve), and one non-protected area (Warwick Hammock). Additional plants have been found adjacent to Castellow Hammock on private property.
