General Landscape Uses: An aggressive native weed. Not recommended for general landscape use.

Range: Southern United States west to Texas and south to the Monroe County Keys; West Indies, Mexico, Central America and South America.

Wildlife and Ecology: Larval host plant for gray hairstreak (Strymon melinus) and tropical checkered skipper (Pyrgus oileus) butterflies. Nectar plant for barred yellow (Eurema daira), gulf fritillary (Agraulis vanillae), Palatka skipper (Euphyes pilatka), tropical checkered skipper and other butterflies.

Comments: Treated as Sida ulmifolia by other authors.
