Availability:
Available at native plant nurseries in central Florida.
Description: Rhizomatous perennial sedge 3-9 feet tall with obtusely 3-angled dark green stems.
Dimensions: Typically 3-9 feet in height.
Range:
Southwest to southeast United States to Collier and Palm Beach counties.

Habitats: Shallow water, marshes, shores.
Soils: Wet, well-drained to poorly drained sandy soils, without humus.
Salt Water Tolerance: Moderate; tolerates brackish water or occasional inundation by salt water.
Salt Wind Tolerance: Moderate; grows near salt water, but is protected from direct salt spray by other vegetation.
Drought Tolerance: Low; requires moist to wet soils and is intolerant of long periods of drought.
Light Requirements: Full sun.
Flower Color: Brown.
Wildlife and Ecology: Provides cover for wildlife.
